  • Most Advanced Paper Machine in Europe Officially Opened by Minister of State for Business and Energy

    Europe’s most advanced recycled paper mill was officially opened today by Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP, Minister of State for Business & Energy. The £300 million facility, known as PM-11, was built by Spanish multinational paper and corrugated packaging manufacturer SAICA at Partington Wharfside, Trafford.

    A 170 tonne generator transformer has been removed from Oldbury nuclear power station as part of its decommissioning programme. Managed by SAICA Natur on behalf of Magnox, the site owners, it was taken from the site near Bristol to Sharpness Docks in Gloucester, where it will be broken up and recycled.
